Today was the first day

The historic American nation - it's people, it's history, it's culture, it's form of government and way of life - is as dead as the dodo. By 2043, America's vibrantly diverse and diversely vibrant population will regard the War Between the States as alien and uninteresting a subject as the Ming Dynasty is to the average white American joe. Idiocracy is our future, friends. As we enter the terminal stage of our decline and fall, it's worth remembering that this year marks the 150th anniversary of the greatest battle Americans ever fought. This was before war became cruel and squalid, when it was still cruel and magnificent. We'll never see their like in this world again, and we are manifestly unworthy to be their descendants. The nations they fought for, whether Union or Confederate, are gone.
